Highway 128 – Cisco Road – Rich County, Utah

The Cisco Road transportation reconstruction project included the construction and realignment of 10 miles of existing road on the east side of Bear Lake, Utah. The project included the addition of a new bike path along the road and 3.5 miles of hot mix asphalt overlay. Jones & DeMille provided transportation services including preconstruction design engineering and construction engineering.

A big component of the work was surveying and mapping for design. The surveying and platting of the existing right of way assisted Rich County in acquiring a new right of way for the project. Survey work was also done to establish the Bear Lake high water line and the boundaries of the state sovereign lands. These were needed for right of ways and to keep all construction activities above the high water line.

The roadway reconstruction phase included design elements such as:

  • MSE Wall Design
  • Pavement Design
  • Right of Pavement Design & Acquisition
  • Drainage Improvements
  • Guardrail and Access Design
